The story

The University of Buckingham is the UK’s only independent university. Through research we found that the students desired a conventional approach. Most of their students are foreign and come to the University for a traditional English education.

The picture

The shield device is in keeping with the above traditions and uses a swan, which is taken from the University's heraldic crest (and is also the symbol of Buckingham itself). The device is then used within a strong, clear banner that is easy to apply to all items.

"We commissioned the logo for the University five years ago and so good has it been that we have not only kept it unchanged but we have adapted it to new uses and, moreover, we have noticed that other universities have adapted a similar style of logo. It's been great."
